STASZEK KOTOWSKI BIOGRAPHY
Born and raised in Poland, Staszek Kotowski developed an interest in art from childhood inspired in part by his grandfather Jan Kotowski, a renowned Polish painter, whose paintingswere hanging throughout his home together with other artist relatives dating back to the 19th century - Alfred Wieruz Kowalski, Josef Brandt, Witold Wojtkiewicz and Roman Breitenwald.
In 1979 Staszek began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw graduating with a master's degree in 1985. Upon graduating Staszek immediately began working as an adjunct professor and during his 4 years of teaching received 2 awards of excellence.
At the invitationof one of his colleagues from the Academy, Staszek left Poland in 1989 to set up an art company in the US. In 1991 he moved his family to the US to pursue his painting full-time.
"Inspiration for my paintingscomes from the mystery and the vastness of oceans, skies and landscapes," says the artist. "Places that evoke contemplation, awaken our spirit and hopefully transport us from the tumult of our daily lives."
Mr. Kotowski's paintings are in numerous private collections in Switzerland, Germany, Poland, France and the US and his work has been exhibited in galleries around the world.
